The challenge
A backup is not the same as a recoverable service. VMs, Kubernetes, databases and events have different consistency and recovery mechanisms. The plan coordinates restart and demonstrates potential data loss and service recovery time.
Our approach
- Classify applications by criticality and agree RPO, RTO and dependencies.
- Select the second site and verify independence, capacity and network latency.
- Design replication for VMs, PostgreSQL, Kafka and objects; recover Kubernetes configuration with GitOps and state backups.
- Automate runbooks, rehearse failover and failback, measure results and close gaps against targets.
Use cases
- Site loss, critical service recovery and isolated component drills.
- Periodic restore and continuity validation after platform changes.
What we deliver
- Recovery design, failover and failback procedures, and an agreed drill schedule.
- Drill reports with measured RPO/RTO, incidents, owners and improvement actions.
Versions, licences, compatibility, support coverage and service targets are agreed after reviewing the environment. Sizing and results are validated with representative workloads and tests.
